Kaimen was envisioned as a premium noodle brand inspired by the richness of East Asian culinary culture. The ambition was to create a modern food brand that respected tradition while appealing to contemporary consumers seeking authenticity and quality. Artifexx was tasked with building a visual identity capable of communicating heritage, craftsmanship, and distinction within a highly competitive market.

Many food brands rely on familiar visual clichés, making it difficult to create meaningful differentiation. Kaimen presented an opportunity to build a stronger cultural narrative. Inspired by maritime symbolism and the historical role of trade and exploration in shaping culinary traditions, the brand sought to celebrate both heritage and discovery. The challenge was creating an identity that felt rooted in culture while remaining relevant to modern audiences.

Our approach
We developed a visual system inspired by traditional East Asian iconography, combining refined typography, symbolic storytelling, and a distinctive brand mark centred around the ship motif. The resulting identity balances cultural authenticity with contemporary sophistication, creating a brand experience that feels premium, memorable, and deeply connected to its origins.
